Build a plan with ArchieHow we estimate your needs
Maintenance energy uses the 2023 Dietary Reference Intake equations, based on age, height, weight, activity, and sex. This model may not capture your individual physiology.
Weight-loss and muscle-building estimates adjust maintenance by 10%, capped at 300 calories per day. These are general starting points, not personalized prescriptions. Macros use 20% protein, 30% fat, and 50% carbohydrate. Values are rounded.
This tool is not for minors, pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating-disorder concerns, or specialized nutrition needs. It does not produce weight-loss targets below 1,500 calories or when adult BMI is below 18.5; these are calculator limits, not a diagnosis or a universal calorie minimum.
